Pottery is defined as clay or clay mixed with certain materials, which is formed and dried into a bowl or a decorated object after being painted. Pottery is not made from raw clay resulting from the decomposition of rocks within the earth's crust, but other materials are added to give it certain properties that enable it to work,  The art of forming pottery is considered one of the oldest and most famous ancient decorative arts, in which materials made of clay and hardened by heat are formed, such as; Containers for storing liquids, dishes, etc.

Pottery includes a group of types, but there are three types that are more common than others:

The history of the porcelain industry dates back to 9000 years, and it appears in many colours; Such as orange, dark red, grey, and black, which can be covered with a transparent or opaque layer, and some of them are added in and it is called delft, and some of them are added glass so that they are cream-coloured and they are called cream pots, and these pots are characterized by being heat-resistant. And cold, and therefore used in cooking, freezing and serving meals.

White stoneware was made in China in 1400 BC, and the first stoneware production in Europe was in Germany in the sixteenth century, and at the end of the seventeenth century the English made white stone covered with a layer of salt and considered it a substitute for porcelain, and in the twentieth-century porcelain was used Stoneware by artists such as Bernard Leach and his followers, stoneware features many colours; Like red, brown, grey, white, and black.

Porcelain was first manufactured in China, where it was made from china clay called kaolin, and china stone called bronze, where it is ground until it becomes like powder and mixed with clay and then exposed to a temperature of 1450 degrees Celsius.
